Caring for your human hair

Whether you are buying a new one, or reusing an old hair, regular care will ensure your extensions last long and look healthy.

Separate your hair from the extension bonds daily. This should be the most important part of your routine. Once a day, separate each extension bond with your fingers to ensure they are sitting properly. This routine will prevent your bonds from tangling at the roots and make it easy to remove when you are ready to.  Separating your bonds everyday will prevent damage to your natural hair and prevent tangling. Even if do any other routine, this one routine is enough.

Brush your extensions with care. Whenever you find yourself about to brush your extensions, do it gently. Take your time to remove the tangles patiently without stressing both your hair and the extensions by tugging. Ensure you always have a spare hair extension brush so you are not tempted to use just any brush. Use human hair friendly hair bands from hair extensions London to protect your hair from pulling.

Never sleep with wet hair. Wet hair promotes tangling and matting so avoid sleeping with your hair wet or damp. Remember how difficult it will be when brushing your hair in the morning whenever you are tempted to crash with wet/damp hair. Leave enough time for drying whenever you decide to wash your hair. Protect the bonds and your hair cuticles by avoiding sleep ins with wet hair at all times.

Protect your extensions before going to bed. There are many ways to secure your hair extensions at night. You can either braid neatly to keep your extensions out of the way for long extensions. Secure in a ponytail for medium length extensions and also fold the ponytail into itself. A snag free hair bobble is also a pretty cool way to secure your hair. Use a satin pillow and scarf will also prevent matting and tangling.

Keep an appointment with your hairdresser. Keep an up to date maintenance with hair extensions London every 4-6 weeks to keep your hair looking healthy and stylish. A regular appointment with your hairdresser will keep your hair looking 100% on fleek.

TAPE HAIR EXTENSIONS – A GOOD OPTION FOR AFRO OR MIXED-RACE CLIENTS

I have recently started using tape hair extensions on some of my mixed-race clients. Black hair is usually unruly and takes ages to grow. Most black woman spend fortunes on their hair each month to get a weave put in to make their hair longer. A weave is done by plaiting the customer’s hair tight to the head then hair extensions that are on a weft and are seen to the client’s head literally with a needle and a thread.

The problem with a weave is because all the hair is plaited so tightly at first to the head that it can really stress the natural hair out. Once it starts to grow it then gets bulky and the hair extensions that are seen to the weave start to stick out from the head and can look very wiggly.

Choose the Best Hair Extensionists

London is one of the most amazing places in the world. It is the city that never sleeps and the place where you are guaranteed to find some amazing hair extensionists and hairdressers. If you pop in to the google search bar cheap hair extensions London you will see a multitude of hair extensionists and salons claiming that they are amazing and do the best job. Some hair extension technicians will promise you the world to get you to part with your hard-earned cash but the truth of the matter is if you pay peanuts you get monkeys. While the promise of amazing looking but cheap hair extensions sounds great the reality is rather different. Hair extensions can change a woman’s life but equally they can ruin it too. If they are applied badly they can cause all sorts of pain and discomfort and actually damage your natural hair in the long term.

Popular methods of hair extensions are pre bonded, micro rings and tapes. In honesty all types of applications can be great but sadly if you have someone who is inexperienced you might seriously regret ever embarking on hair extensions.

When you are getting hair extensions it is vital that you go to a reputable, well trained hair extension technician. You should always do research on your chosen salon or hair extension technician beforehand. Most salons or technican will have some form of a social media page whether it be Facebook, snapchat or Instagram. You should take advantage of the new age of social media and delve in to the past work of the person you have chosen to do your hair. If you are in London the competition to get clients is fierce and any salon worth their salt will take time to upload images of their work with pride.

Looking at this should give you some reassurance and guidance on what you want. Social media is not the only way to look at past work. Check websites and reviews. Check to see if the salon or technician is on trust pilot. If they are take time to look at all the reviews. While of course you can’t take every review and gospel it should provide you with a bit of an insight in to what you can expect. Take making the decision to get hair extensions seriously. A woman’s hair is the crown she never takes off.
